Non-Boffer Competitions
Live Archery Tourney
- An accuracy shoot toward archery targets. Each competitor may use
their own bow but the only bows allowed are non-compound with a draw weight of 30' or less. No items designed to improve stabilization or accuracy may be used with your bow. The shooting range will be 50’.
Live Knife Throw
- Throwing knives will be provided. This will be target knife throwing. The target range will be 10’.
Strongman
- Strongman will test physical strength in a number of ways. There will be a shot put and caber toss, endurance in holding a weight out in front of your chest, a distance run carrying the marshal, and a competition to do the greatest number of push ups.
Running Competition
- You run. A lot. May the best legs win!
The Artist's Tourney
- Any medium is acceptable to use. Judging will be on interpretation of the theme and artistic ability. See the main page for this year’s category.
Campfire Cooking (Rules)
- This is a competition to find the best campsite chef amongst the entrants. No preparation to the ingredients may be done before the chef is on site, save for the marinating of proteins and the washing and chopping of vegitables. Every other step of the preparation and presentation must be done on site. Chefs may start cooking at any time, but they must be ready to present their entry 30 minutes before the end of dinner break on Saturday. There is no restriction on what materials or equipment is used to cook; anything you can bring and set up in your campsite, you can use. Chefs may choose to include a side-dish and/or desert to complement the main dish. Entries should be cut and served so that each judge will have their own portion. The entries will be judged on taste, presentation, and creativity. All entrants must follow the Rules specified for this new competition. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Foamsmith
- Each team's entrant for the foam-smith tournament will make a pair of matched (i.e. IDENTICAL) weapons. They may be used in Champions, One Man, One Woman and Couples. One WILL be torn apart as part of the judging process. You should get the other one back. The weapons should be virtually unused. See the main page for this year’s category.
-
Shieldsmith
- Each team's entrant for the shieldsmith tourney will make a boff-safe shield. The shield may be used in tournies by your team's Champion, One Man, One Woman and Couples entrants. Your shield will not be destroyed in the judging process, but we may look under the edge of the foam to evaluate your construction methods. See the main page for this year’s category.
Armourer
- Each team's entrant for the armourer tournament will be asked to make a piece or suit of armour. The armour should be modeled and also available for inspection at the eventholder's request (probably Sunday Morning). It must be boff-safe and legal. The armour should be made before the event, but should be virtually unused. See the main page for this year’s category.
-
Trapper
- If you are good at trapping wild and exotic creatures, you are invited to bring the greatest beast you have captured to show off to the people of the Realms. You will be given an opportunity to tell us the tale of the hunt. You will also be asked to tell the judge of the competition (either IC during your story or OOC so the players can find out later) how the creature "works" in combat. You are expected to provide your own NPC and to create your own monster costume before the event. The winner will be determined by quality of costuming for the monster, the storytelling ability of the trapper, and the understanding of playability and game balance demonstrated by the way the creature operates (how it takes damage, is killed, etc...). Along with your trapper entrant you must provide a one-page cheat-sheet with all of the vital statistics of your monster. The sheet should be no longer than one page and descriptive enough that a reasonably experienced player can read it and be able to play the monster very well. See the main page for this year’s category.
Bardic Competition
- Anything goes except dance, which has its own category.
Dance Competition
- Anything goes… as long as at least some people would consider it dancing.
Garb Competition
- Queen of Hearts must be the first event the Garb you are entering has been to. See the main page for this year’s category.
Best Banner & Heraldry for four
True Supporters
- Always a great competition. The true supporters that look sharpest and carry the most impressive banner score some points for their team.
